The Skylight Opera Theatre launched a new outreach initiative for kids called "Herman the Horse: A Healthy Tail." The show is a fun and silly children's opera that weaves the music of Puccini, Rossini, Verdi, Mozart, Offenbach and more into a tale of healthy eating and fun activity to help combat childhood obesity.
The show runs through April 29 and tickets are $8 per person. Susan M. Yankee, Skylight managing director Eric Dillner's wife, wrote the show.
"Herman the Horse: A Healthy Tail" is ideal for kids ages 2 to 9. Reduced rates are available.
The Skylight is located in the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway, in the Historic Third Ward. The Broadway Theatre Center houses two unique theaters, including the 358-seat Cabot Theatre which is the Skylight's performance space. The Broadway Theatre Center is a smoke-free building.
