Mother pleads guilty to starving child to death

Vera Morehouse pleaded guilty Wednesday to allowing her 7-week-old son, Lamour Caesar-Burnley, to starve to death.Lamour, who died in July 2008, was one of the children featured in a recent Journal Sentinel investigative report, "Fatal Care," which found that 22 Milwaukee County children died from 2004 to 2008 despite clear warnings to the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare that they were at risk.Morehouse, 22, had been reported to the bureau six times, according to the Department of Children and Families, and her family had an open case with the bureau when Lamour died.
